Bio :
Hi there, thanks for visiting my profile!
My mission:
Life brings moments of profound beauty and connection, as well as experiences of pain, loss, and adversity. While these challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck, they do not define who we are or what is possible for our lives.
My mission is to provide a compassionate and transformative therapeutic experience that fosters healing, self-discovery, and meaningful growth. I am dedicated to helping you alleviate your suffering, strengthening your relationship with yourself and others, and cultivating greater balance, resilience, and wellbeing.
Above all, I believe that healing happens in the context of safe and caring relationships, and that every person possesses an innate capacity for growth, wholeness, and a more fulfilling life.
About me:
My journey to becoming a counsellor grew out of a deep appreciation for the healing and transformative potential of compassionate human connection. I hold a Master of Social Work degree and have spent more than a decade helping people navigate challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and more. My approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based practices such as:
- Mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioural therapy (MiCBT)
- Internal family systems (parts work) to reduce shame and increase self-compassion
- Somatic / embodied approaches for expressing stored emotions and enhancing connection with self
- Trauma-informed care
- Emotion-focused therapy to understand and process what you’re feeling
- Safely accessing altered states of consciousness to address treatment resistant conditions
Above all, I believe that healing happens in the context of a safe, authentic, and compassionate relationship. My hope is to offer a space where you feel genuinely seen, accepted, and supported as we work together to help you reconnect with your strengths and move toward the life you want to create.
On a personal note, I am the grateful father of 3 amazing children and partner to a wonderful woman. In addition to counselling, some things that bring me fulfillment are spending time with loved ones, connecting with nature, travel, cooking and enjoying tasty food, salsa and bachata dancing, and working on my own personal growth.
